We've done a lot of posting on social media and online advertising but only one recently on print advertising, so when we ran across an article in USA Today with a slightly different slant we thought it might be worth revisiting this topic. The article begins by questioning whether print advertising is dead as some critics say. The article maintains that similar to Mark Twain's famous quote "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." By the way I had to look this up on the Internet to make sure I got the quote right and you may be more familiar with this misquote "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
The article maintains that print advertising is still very definitely a worthwhile option and emphasizes the following benefits:
- It is highly targeted
- It does not evaporate
- It is great for branding
Be sure and read the whole article for the reasons behind these three points and as an added bonus there are some statistics on improved small business confidence near the end of the article that we all might find encouraging.
There's always a place for print advertising, but it is more of a niche sector of the market.

Others argue that print advertising is alive and well. One explanation is that the increase in online advertising does not mean the death of print, but the media focused on technology are just an extension of the advertising industry together.
